When I was in the 6th grade ,I saw my first Off-Broadway show at the Merriam Theater. It was a class trip to see Sarafina. I sat 2nd row ,stage left, aisle seat. The exhilarating and emotional roller coaster ride performance had my young eyes so captivated. There  was a moment  I glanced over to the audience  in the center and noticed they  were just as fascinated  by what they were seeing  as me. I remember whispering
“I want to do that”.

I learned  from that performance art should engage, impact and excite the audience’s  senses. My artistic  expression  is crafted  from that moment.
